I’ve painted some of those Nurgle Sorcerers in the past. But I wasn’t very pleased with the results. The thing is that this mini is very boring on it’s back. Like there’s nothing interesting there, just a cape. Cape with some runes cut on it. Well I wouldn’t be complaining if the cape would be plain. Then I could paint some freehand. But with those cuts it’s hard to make anything special. So I’ve figured out that this Sorcerer could have that boulder on his back to cover the cape. And because he has lots of those tentacles everywhere he could hold the stone with some of those. So this makes him a bit like Obeliks (from Asterix series) who was carrying around his favorite stone.
I’ve decided to make kind of sticky spiderweb thing on his staff. This idea was inspired by Nurgle Sorcerer painted by C’tan (from Fantasygames.com.pl). I have to admit that I really like how it turned out. It was made with “UHU por” glue mixed with some beige paint. It has to be “UHU por” because “UHU Power” melts the paint. This is sticky glue. And it remains sticky for long time so it’s good to give it a coat of varnish. And the best is to make it with airbrush or spray, so you wont break those tiny strings with brush. Also the pressure should’t be strong as it may break some weaker strings. But when varnish dries it should make this spiderweb a bit more durable, but it still pretty fragile so use it in places that are not exposed too much. More Nurgle tomorrow!
Malowałem już parę tych Nurglowych Czarnoksiężników w przeszłości. Nie byłem szczegolnie zadowolony z rezultatów. Rzecz w tym, że mają bardzo nudne plecy. Nie ma tam nic interesującego, tylko płaszcz. I nie było by tak źle, gdyby nie runy wycięte w nim. Przez nie nie da się wykonać ciekawego malunku. Wymyśliłem więc, że przylepię temu czarnoksiężnikowi kamień na plecy, żeby zakryć mu ten płaszcz. Ponieważ zewsząd wyłażą mu macki nie będzie nic dziwnego w tym, że macki będą również trzymać ten głaz. Trochę taki Obeliks (ten od Asteriksa) który nosił swój ulubiony kamień ze sobą.
Zdecydowałem się zrobić taką glutowatą pajęczynę na kijku. Ten pomysł zaczerpnąłem z Nurglowego Maga pomalowanego przez C’tana (z Fantasygames.com.pl). Zaryzykowałem i muszę przyznać, że bardzo podoba mi się ten efekt. Użyłem do tego celu kleju “UHU por” wymieszanego z beżową farbą. Uwaga “UHU Power” trochę rozpuszcza farbę. Klej jest bardzo lepki i zostaje lepki przez długi czas. Warto więc pomalować go jakimś lakierem bezbarwnym. Najlepiej sprejem lub areografem, bo pędzel może pozrywać te struny. Ciśnienie też nie może być za mocne. Ale kiedy lakier zaschnie powinien wzmocnić pajęczynkę. Nadal będzie jednak dość delikatna więc warto pamiętać, żeby nie była za bardzo wyeksponowana.
