Warhammer Visions February 2014 Review

I was exited to get new Warhammer Visions monthly magazine. Is it cool? Is it worth buying? Let’s find it out together.

Byłem bardzo podniecony nowym mesięcznikiem Warhammer Visions. Czy jest super? Czy jest warty kupienia? Sprawdźmy to razem.

Contents

The first 63 pages are about releases form previous month. Those re exactly the same photos that were published in previous (January 2014) White Dwarf. Well maybe they put few more shots, but who cares! This stuff is duplicated! All Tyranids here are mostly in Leviathan color scheme. Hobbit stuff also same as in previous WD.
FORGE WORLD – some photos of FW new releases.
ARMY OF THE MONTH – Vampire Counts army with Bretonnian theme. We all know that Bretonnia is dead.
PARADE GROUND – showcase of some really nicely painted minis, mostly form Golden Demons.
AHRIMAN MUST DIE! – this is battle report. Chaos Space Marines fights against Grey Knights and Eldars. We get lots of battle photos, but there’s no army lists nor much writing.
HIT BASH – 4 Converted Ork Tukks, but nothing special.
BLANCHITSU – Inquisitor with 3 henchmen. Will will get there soon.
THE HIVE FLEETS – Some more Tyranids. This time in Behemoth color scheme.
PAINT SPLATTER – Tips on painting Tyranids. I think this is same stuff as in previous WD.
STORE FINDER – 10 pages with GW stores’ addresses.
SUBSCRIPTIONS – You won’t need that.
PARTING SHOP – This is one page shot with High Elves. Shots were taken on the same table as Vampire Counts Army of the Month so I guess this would be next Army of the Month.

FORGE WORLD – parę zdjęc z nowości FW.
ARMY OF THE MONTH – Vampiry w klimacie Bretonni. Wszyscy wiemy że Bretonnia nie żyje.
PARADE GROUND – pokaz naprawde nieźle pomalowanych figurek, większość z konkursów Golden Demon.
AHRIMAN MUST DIE! – rabor bitewny.
BLANCHITSU – Inkwizytor z 3 przydupasami. Zaraz tam przejdziemy.
THE HIVE FLEETS – Więcej zdjęć Tyranidów. Tym razem w kolorach roju Behemoth.
PAINT SPLATTER – Porady dotyczące malowania Tyranidów. Chyba te same co w styczniowym WD.

Blanchitsu

I love Blanchitsus. This issue we get some minis by Jakob Nielsen. I’m not huge fan of those minis, but I like the leader.

Kocham Blanchitsu.

Army of the Month

The army of the month are Vampire Counts painted by Andy Keddie and Gary Shaw. This army has a lot of nice conversions. The general theme is that those are dead Bretonninas which works perfect with Vampire Counts. Black Knights are slightly converted. They have some helmets and shields taken from Bretonnian knights. Infantry was converted a little bit more. Skeletons have lots of pavises and peasant helmets, I like that. One unit of zombies is made of peasants bodies and ghoul heads and arms, which doesn’t turned out so well. And the Ghosts are just peasants. The are parts from Garden of Morr in whole army. I’m not the big fan of putting all those walls into regiments. The authors of this army says that the army looks like marching through the graveyard, but what I can see is just some walls. And walls doesn’t make graveyards, they are just walls. If you want your army to be marching through cemetery, give them tombstones! I like that Terrorgheist sitting on mausoleum. And my favorite mini is that Vampiress made of Damsel. She look so nice, I might even made myself a similar model. The painting could be better, but after all it’s quite nice army.

Overall

I was truly disappointed with this issue. But I gues this is exactly how the next issues would look like. Just copy and paste from all weekly White Dwarfs from the previous month. The Battle Report isn’t good. Nor are the photos of GW studio models. The only good content are the Blanchitsu and the Parade Ground with minis from Golden Demons. But I guess I’ll keep making those reviews, even just for those photos that might be inspiring.
